Skylight Accessories & VELUX Products

Shades, controllers, light kits, and smart controls that make a good skylight or Sun Tunnel even better.

Explore our range of daylighting accessories for the Sun Tunnel, skylight, or roof window in your St. George or Washington County home or business. Most accessories can be added to existing VELUX units, not just new installations.

Control the light, the heat, and the night

Solar-powered shades give a skylight blackout or light-filtering control and add up to 40% more energy efficiency, with no wiring required. The Sun Tunnel daylight controller puts incoming light on a wall switch, and the light kit turns a Sun Tunnel into a night-time fixture with the bulb of your choice.

VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO adds smart sensors that monitor temperature, humidity, and CO2, then open or close skylights and blinds automatically for a healthier indoor climate.

FAQ

Common questions

What types of skylights do you install?

We install VELUX Sun Tunnels (tubular skylights), curb mount and deck mount skylights, roof windows, balcony windows, residential architectural skylights, and commercial skylights, in both venting and fixed models.

Do skylights leak?

Modern skylights do not leak when installed correctly with the proper flashing system. Most skylight leaks are caused by improper installation, failed flashing, or aging roofing materials, not the skylight itself.

How much does skylight installation cost in St. George?

It depends on the model, roof type, and interior finish work, so we quote every project after a free in-home consultation. You get a clear, flat quote before any work starts. Call us at (435) 772-6137 for current pricing on any accessory or add-on.

What is the difference between a sun tunnel and a skylight?

A skylight is a framed window in the roof with a direct view of the sky. A Sun Tunnel is a smaller rooftop dome that channels daylight through a highly reflective tube into rooms below. Sun Tunnels install faster, cost less, and fit hallways, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and closets where a full skylight won't.

Is there still a federal tax credit for solar-powered skylights?

No. The 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit ended for installations completed after December 31, 2025, so new installations no longer qualify. If any state or utility incentives apply to your project, we will flag them during your consultation.

Will a skylight make my home hotter in the summer?

Not when it's the right unit, properly placed. Modern VELUX skylights use double-pane low-E glass that blocks most solar heat, and solar-powered shades can cut heat gain further. We also factor in orientation and placement, which matters a lot in the Southern Utah sun.
