Deck mount or curb mount: we'll match the unit to your roof
Deck mounted skylights are the more recent design. They lower the unit's profile and increase energy efficiency by hugging the roof, because the curb is the skylight itself. On most new installations, deck mount is what we recommend.
Curb mounted skylights sit over a built curb like a lid on a shoe box. That design is ideal when replacing an older skylight, because the new unit can often go on without re-flashing, which reduces labor. Curb mount is also the easy path to custom sizes.
Fixed, venting, or a full roof window
Fixed skylights are sealed daylight, the simplest and most affordable option. Venting skylights open to release heat and moisture, which makes a real difference in kitchens, baths, and Southern Utah summers. Solar-powered venting models operate from a remote and shut automatically when their rain sensor gets wet.
Roof windows are exactly what they sound like: windows installed into the roof. They tend to be bigger than a skylight, giving a better view of the sky, more light, and real airflow. They are a great fit for lofts and bonus rooms.

What types of skylights do you install?
We install VELUX Sun Tunnels (tubular skylights), curb mount and deck mount skylights, roof windows, balcony windows, residential architectural skylights, and commercial skylights, in both venting and fixed models.
Do skylights leak?
Modern skylights do not leak when installed correctly with the proper flashing system. Most skylight leaks are caused by improper installation, failed flashing, or aging roofing materials, not the skylight itself.
How much does skylight installation cost in St. George?

How long does installation take?
Most sun tunnel installations and single skylight replacements are completed in one day. Larger projects, like multiple units or new openings in a finished ceiling, can take longer, and we tell you exactly what to expect in your quote.
Is there still a federal tax credit for solar-powered skylights?
No. The 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit ended for installations completed after December 31, 2025, so new installations no longer qualify. If any state or utility incentives apply to your project, we will flag them during your consultation.
Will a skylight make my home hotter in the summer?
Not when it's the right unit, properly placed. Modern VELUX skylights use double-pane low-E glass that blocks most solar heat, and solar-powered shades can cut heat gain further. We also factor in orientation and placement, which matters a lot in the Southern Utah sun.
